At Toner Law Firm, we respect your rights to your personal data. Whether you have subscribed to our newsletter, submitted a case inquiry, or created an account to comment on our blog, you have the right to access, modify, or delete the information we hold about you.

Please use the options below to submit a request. We aim to respond to all verified data requests within 30 days.

1. UNSUBSCRIBE FROM EMAILS

If you wish to stop receiving marketing emails or newsletters, the fastest way is to click the “Unsubscribe” link located at the bottom of any email we have sent you.

2. REQUEST DATA EXPORT

If you have left comments or have an account on this site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

To request a data export: Please email privacy@tonerlawfirm.com with the subject line: “Data Export Request”.

• Include your full name and the email address associated with your account/comments.
• We may request additional information to verify your identity before releasing data.

3. REQUEST DATA DELETION (“RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN”)

You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This includes your user account, profile information, and public comments.

Note: This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes (such as case files if you are a client).

To request data deletion: Please email privacy@tonerlawfirm.com with the subject line: “Data Deletion Request”.

• Include the email address or username you wish to have removed.
• Verification: We will send a confirmation email to the address on file. You must reply to that email to confirm the deletion request.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will deleting my data remove my blog comments? Yes. If you request full data deletion, your comments will be permanently removed from our website. Alternatively, we can anonymize your comments (change the author name to “Guest” and remove your avatar) if you prefer to keep the content visible but remove your personal identity.

Can I delete data related to my legal case? No. Legal case files are governed by different retention laws and the New York Rules of Professional Conduct. We are required by law to retain client files for a specific period of time (typically 7 years). A data deletion request applies only to website data, marketing lists, and public comments.
